Signs of the Last Days
We are living in the last days -- the evidence is all around us. When you
examine the evidence -- taken directly from the daily news, it will reveal that
what looks like chaos to the world is proof positive that God's Plan for the
human race is moving forward according to a clearly defined, pre-determined
schedule. Nobody knows exactly when the Lord will return, but He gave us
specific signs of the time, and He promised us that "when you see these things
begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption
draws nigh."
This generation is witnessing world events fit into the precise pattern
predicted by the Bible Prophets. According to their unerring prophecies, this
scenario of world events will explode into the most catastrophic period of
warfare ever witnessed in history.
The major signs that we see today pointing to the imminent return of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ are
1.The Build up and preparation for the battle of Jerusalem
Zechariah 12:2
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round
about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
Zechariah 12:3
And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all
that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of
the earth be gathered together against it. Today the signs are very clear.
Nations are gathered against Jerusalem. It is now the centre of a major
upheaval. Every day we read about some horrendous event taking place in the
Jerusalem zone. No one knows when a major war may spurt but the signs very
clearly point to a radical situation which can turn into a major political and
economical chaos.
2.The Heinous advance of the New World Order
This very clearly points to the emergence of a one world government system.
Revelation 13:1
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,
having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his
heads the name of blasphemy.
Revelation 13:7
And power was given him over all kindred’s, and tongues, and nations. Today we
find the European Economic Community progressing more and more in its objective
of having an unified Europe. Already the community has become a world power.
Very soon it can become the only major power existing in the world.
3.The Incredible apostasy and deception in the church
which is destroying spiritual life of believers
Today the condition of the church is very pathetic. Many believers are lukewarm
and not spiritually vigorous. Zeal for holiness, godly fear, dedication is
dissipating in the church. There are only a small microscopic minority who are
really interested in absolutely pleasing God. In some countries churches are
closed down and replaced as a shopping mall. Very few young people are found in
churches.
The tendency to please the flock due to fear of losing membership has resulted
in dilution of solid teaching of spiritual truths. As a result even genuinely
interested believers especially those who are new to the Christian fold are not
made aware of the spiritual truths which can result in the development of the
believer.
4.The dangers of a major Middle East war
The Islamic world embraces some 25 of the world’s most important countries. Many
analysts are talking about an Islamic-Christendom divide. Unexpected
developments in the Islamic world can paralyze commerce and economy for months
on end. The possibility of a nuclear war with its consequent effects are there.
Mysterious Force

A space probe launched 30 years ago has come under the influence of a force that
has baffled scientists and could rewrite the laws of physics. Researchers say
Pioneer 10 which took the first close-up pictures of Jupiter before leaving our
solar system in 1983 is being pulled back to the sun by an unknown force.
The effect shows no sign of weakening as the space craft travels deeper and
deeper into space and scientists are considering the possibility that the probe
has revealed a new force of nature.
Dr Philip Laing, a member of the research team tracking the craft said " We have
examined every mechanism and theory we can think of and so far nothing works. If
the effect is real it will have a big impact on cosmology and spacecraft
navigation
The truth which we can learn from this news report is that there is an Invisible
power which is controlling the entire universe. Though many are aware of this
power they don’t give much importance to this power known as the power of God.
God is again and again revealing through his works that he is real and should be
taken seriously.
Another important fact is that whatever may invent or discover it is always
subject to change just like how the scientists have mentioned in the above
article that the laws of physics have to be rewritten.
Will
our Sun explode
A fact which should be of great concern to those who think that they can live
without God is the developments which are taking place in our sun. Many
scientists believe it is a prelude to the sun’s explosion
For the past fifty years, scientists have observed that the sun has been
contracting by thirteen kilometers every year. It burns itself away at an
estimated 240 million tones every minute. If this continues then there is every
possibility of the sun exploding.
The hydrogen of a star(sun) gradually burns up and becomes helium. When the core
of the star becomes 40% helium, the star explodes. Our sun’s core is already 50%
helium and the question scientists cannot answer is why has our sun not already
exploded?
The only answer which one can provide is that it is not yet God’s perfect time
An explosion of the sun will not result in total cessation or end of life. It
will result in total darkness prevailing for a period of days or weeks. Normal
light would not be emitted, but ultra-red rays would keep the world from
freezing. These red rays would also cause the moon to appear as dark crimson.
Can you think of a black sun rising?
Scientists have also observed an increased heat and brightness in the sun. And
during the last ten years there has been a 20% increase of ultra-violet rays
from the sun which is affecting our atmosphere and causing chaotic weather
patterns.
What has the Bible got to say about this event?
Matthew 24:29
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and
the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the
powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Luke 21:25
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon
the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Some significant facts about
Jerusalem
For over 3300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never
been the capital of any Arab or Muslim occupants. Even when Jordan captured
Jerusalem and occupied it, they never sought to make it their capital.
Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the Tanuch, the Jewish Holy scriptures
(the Old Testament)
Jerusalem is not mentioned by name even once in the Koran.
King David founded the city of Jerusalem by capturing the city of the Jebusites
and made it his capital in the year 1048 BC (approximately).
Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray facing Mecca.
HIV Strains merge causing Alarm
French and African researchers have revealed that strains of the AIDS virus are
mutating, a development with potentially alarming repercussions on testing and
treating the infection.
Scientists at the Research Institute for Development(IRD) in Montpellier said
they had found the two strains of the Type 1 human immuno-deficiency virus (HIV)
previously thought to be genetically far apart had combined.
There are two main types of HIV virus, the precursor to acquired immune
deficiency syndrome (AIDS )
HIV-1 the most widespread has three strains M, N and O that have different
characteristics. Until now, conventionally thinking was that these groups were
so divergent genetically more than 50% dissimilar that there was no risk of them
combining. But researchers at the IRD’s virus laboratory, working with
counterparts in the west African country of Cameroon, said they had isolated and
identified a live strain that had combined from group M and group O
A patient in Cameroon was found who had been infected by the two strains and
against all expectations, the two strains had merged forming a new variant

Christmas Day in Egypt declared a
national holiday for the first time
President Mubarak of Egypt has declared Christmas Day a National Holiday for the
first time. Coptic Christians celebrate Christmas on January 7 and from 2003,
this date will be an official public holiday.
In the past Christian religious festivals have not been designated as public
holidays, despite the fact that Christians represent about ten percent of the
population of Egypt.
A spokesperson for the Egyptian Organisation for Human Rights said: "We regard
this decree as a positive step towards achieving harmony and homogenization
between Muslims and Copts before the State. We commend the essence of the decree
which demonstrates respect for the right to religious worship and the right of
full citizenship for all Egyptians."
Egypt is home to the largest Church in the Middle East, numbering approximately
seven to ten million. Egyptian Christians face discrimination in a number of
areas of civil society, including public sector employment, education, the
construction and maintenance of places of worship and the status of converts
from Islam.

important religious festival has been given the recognition it deserves by the
state of Egypt. We hope that this initiative will be the prelude to further
changes aimed at giving Christians and other religious minorities their full
